The Australian and New Zealand Anaesthetic Allergy Group (ANZAAG) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information it collects.

ANZAAG will only collect information from individuals when it is reasonably necessary for the performance of its functions and activities.

ANZAAG collects and retains personal information that you provide to us. This information may includes name, address, telephone number, fax number, email address. It may also include other personal information (for example, curriculum vitae) and financial information.

ANZAAG uses personal information:

To fulfill its role as a membership body, including processing applications and renewals, maintaining membership records, providing information on member services, products and benefits, to assist member’s continuing professional development, education, training and to conduct research for purposes related to ANZAAG.

b. To maintain the website discussion forum.

c. For a secondary purpose such as sending members a conference program or other conference information.

Members have the option of opting out of receiving communication of this nature from ANZAAG.

4 How do we collect your personal information?

ANZAAG collects personal information from you whenever you input this information into the ANZAAG website.

The ANZAAG website use cookies:

a. To collect de-identified data to analyse website usage.

b. To maintain your session whilst you are logged in. This information is not stored after the session has concluded.

5 Disclosure

ANZAAG will disclose personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected or for a secondary purpose if it directly relates to the primary purpose. ANZAAG may disclose personal information to third parties to maintain ANZAAG membership services and benefits, assist member’s continuing professional development, education, training and to conduct research for purposes related to ANZAAG.

Where personal information is disclosed to a third party, ANZAAG seeks to ensure that personal information is handled by the third party in accordance with the relevant New Zealand and Australian Privacy Acts. ANZAAG requires third parties to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Information will not be disclosed where to do so would breach statutory or legal obligations.

ANZAAG seeks to maintain the accuracy of personal information. Individuals are encoraged to maintain their personal information by accessing the member’s area of the ANZAAG website or by contacting ANZAAG via email [email protected].

7 Period of retention

For members, ANZAAG will retain personal information for the duration of your membership or as reasonably necessary to comply with statutory or legal obligations. Personal information provided to ANZAAG by non-members will only be retained to maintain the primary purpose for which it was given or as reasonably necessary to comply with statutory or legal obligations.

If you wish to make a complaint about a breach of your privacy, the complaint should be made in writing to [email protected].

Receipt of your complaint will be acknowledged. ANZAAG will make all reasonable efforts to resolve your complaint promptly and in accordance with the applicable law.

9 Storage and security

Physical, electronic and procedural measures are utilised to protect the personal information held by ANZAAG.

Member’s Personal Information may be stored in the Cloud. Cloud storage is contracted by ANZAAG to Amazon Web Services with data centres based in Sydney Australia. These centres are contractually committed to comply with all relevant New Zealand and Australian legislation regarding data storage and security.

All traffic on the ANZAAG website is encrypted using industry standard SSL/TLS protocols which encrypts information between a visitor’s browser and a server. ANZAAG utilizes Stripe as a payment gateway. Stripe is a certified “PCI Service Provider Level 1”.

Regardless of the measures and efforts taken by ANZAAG we cannot and do not guarantee the absolute protection and security of your Personal Information or any other information you upload, publish or otherwise share with ANZAAG. We encourage you to set strong passwords for your User Account and avoid providing us or anyone with any sensitive Personal Information of which you believe its disclosure could cause you substantial or irreparable harm. Email is not recognised as a secure form of communication; we request and encourage you not to share any Personal Information via email.

Our Services may contain links to other websites or services. We are not responsible for such websites’ or services’ privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of each and every website and service you visit before providing your Personal Information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to such linked third-party websites and services.

11 Changes to this privacy policy

ANZAAG may modify or amend this policy at any time provided the policy still complies with the relevant privacy legislation. Information will be held and used in accordance with the privacy policy, as amended from time to time. Formal notice of amendments will not ordinarily be given, but the current privacy policy will be available via the ANZAAG website.
